After being served with a shocking divorce-related proceeding, we hired Eugene Cristiano after scheduling in-person consultations with six others attorneys in Covina, Claremont, Los Angeles, Pasadena, Tustin, and Upland. We took over a month to decide which lawyer to hire. In terms of experience, no other attorney came close. We got the sense that all the other attorneys were making a lot of B.S. up as we asking questions. But Gene seemed most knowledgeable with the divorce, child support, and real estate nuances that we needed help with. Gene explained many loopholes and discussed some potential strategies. In the end, we hired Gene because he seemed most articulate, savvy, quick-thinking, and was -- by far -- the most experienced lawyer.
Mr. Cristiano has 35 years of legal experience! Some other factors that helped our decision included the fact that Gene is rated as a 'Super Lawyer' by Thomson Reuters, 'Distinguished' by Martindale-Hubbell, and has a near-perfect Avvo rating. From a local search, there were no other attorneys in the local area with the Super Lawyer designation in Family Law. And there are few Family Law attorneys in the local area with any Martindale-Hubbell designation. Having both designations are a rarity for even non-Family Law attorneys.
In the end, we decided to overlook all the other newbie attorneys (with their fancy offices and gimmicky social media) and decided to hire Cristiano. Later on, when going to Court, it helped to discover that the Judge/Commissioner and Sheriff bailiffs knew Gene. Of course, YMMV. But in the end, everything worked out much better than expected -- thanks to Gene and his staff. We went through Mr. Cristiano's Covina office; but I do know that Gene's partner operates the Temecula office.
Nonetheless, if you ever find yourself in a dire Family Law-related predicament, Gene is probably your best bet. Good luck.

I first went to Gene to consult about my case regarding a modification of child custody, and from the beginning he was honest with me and told me I didn't need him but as I went into details he seems to really see in needed his help. I Am happy with the results I have now. Don't want to go into much details but he has done an amazing job helping me with my case, I am grateful to my sister for recommending me to go see him. If you need an attorney, hire Gene Cristiano! In my case Gene got me $750.00 in sanctions (the other side has to pay my attorney fees) because the other side was lying to the Court and not cooperating in giving his financial records. Gene argued against a continuance that the other side was asking for, won, and got an order that the other side has to provide all of his financial records to me within 20 days or the Court was going to sanction him again to pay for more of my attorney's fees. Gene is GREAT!!! I cannot emphasize enough how amazing this attorney is. I will recommend Gene to anyone and everyone I know who is in need of legal services. Gene is a fighter for what you want.

Gene has become a friend because, when I hired him, he not only listened to me but, he understood me. That enabled him to understand why things in the divorce process really get under my skin. Then he explained the options and the cost and then as a friend would do, he told me what the better choice would be and why that choice would be the best one.
